The CURE Curriculum is a transformative K–8 social emotional learning (SEL) program designed to build self-worth from the inside out. CURE stands for Confidence, Understanding & Relationship Building, Resilience, and Empathy—four foundational pillars that empower students to navigate their social world with strength, compassion, and clarity.

Unlike traditional anti-bullying programs that focus on external behavior, CURE goes deeper—nurturing each child’s inner voice, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills to create lasting, positive change. Students gain the tools they need to handle challenges, build meaningful relationships, and develop a strong sense of self.

The CURE Curriculum is aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Student Standards, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) Framework, and the Learning for Justice Social Justice Standards.

Confidence

Confidence is vital for children's development and well-being because it influences their willingness to explore, take risks, and persevere in the face of challenges. It fosters resilience, allowing them to learn from mistakes and bounce back from setbacks. A confident child is more likely to participate in social activities, express their thoughts, and believe in their abilities, ultimately leading to a happier and more successful life.

Understanding & Relationship Building

Understanding and relationship building are crucial for children because they are the foundation for their overall development, impacting their social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Strong relationships provide a sense of security, help children learn about the world, and foster essential skills like communication, empathy, and problem-solving.

It allows them to understand and share the feelings of others, leading to better social interactions, improved mental health, and greater success in various aspects of life.
