FREE COUNSELING RESOURCES FOR COUNSELORS
Everfi offers free digital learning courses for K-12 schools with courses covering topics such as financial literacy, health and wellness, workforce readiness, and social-emotional learning. All of our courses are aligned to state and national standards and we are SOPPA compliant. Educators can utilize the student self-paced lessons along with the many supplemental and extension activities that we have available for each course. Closegap is a nonprofit, school-based mental health platform that gives PK–12 students a simple, daily check-in to share how they’re really doing. Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter is a nonprofit that understands the importance of education as a tool to create kinder and more compassionate communities for all. Their Humane Education department offers free downloadable classroom resources that focus on building empathy for both people and pets. They also offer educational programs, led by a Wayside Humane Educator. Programs are free of cost and offered in-person (for Kansas City area schools/organizations) and virtually (for anyone, anywhere!).

Our website is https://knowyourneighborgame.com. There is a one minute promotional video to show very quickly how the game is played. Ultimately, it's a game all about building connections and learning about others as well as yourself. I designed it to help with schools' social emotional learning curricula. A Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor reviewed and approved every card to ensure it was safe from a mental health perspective.
Several schools currently utilize It with great success to help students (and staff) connect with each other, including some of the following: University of Illinois (Newman Hall), Santa Clara University (Leavey School of Business), St. Ignatius College Prep, Notre Dame College Prep, Loyola College Prep, Stevenson High School, Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School, Glenbrook South High School, North Shore Country Day School, St. William Catholic School, St. Paul of the Cross, Mary Seat of Wisdom, Queen of All Saints, Immaculate Conception, St. Edward, St. Juliana, School District 64, Emerson Middle School, Pleasant Elementary School (District 44), Lincoln International, etc. It is currently sold in all eleven Edie's and Marigold's stores, different retail establishments, at both Misericordia store locations, on our website, and on Amazon. We are in the final stages of producing our next game, Know Your Neighbor® Game - The College Edition. It is due to release this summer. I created this game to help college-aged students connect with one another in a light-hearted, yet intentional way. I wanted to enhance students' sense of belonging, in a positive and fun way, on their respective campuses."
